Understanding the user
Building tools to help students find success in their journey has been a driving force behind my work in product development. Over the years, I have built messaging products, content creation tools, and full CMS portals for universities. It's important to have a passion for helping the end-user when developing these types of products. One of the keys to my success has been my problem-solving approach. I'm not afraid to be wrong and ask questions. I know that I don't have all the answers, so I rely on a collaborative approach to find solutions. I work closely with my team, asking for their input and listening to their ideas. This approach has led to some truly innovative solutions and has helped me to build strong relationships with my team members.
Collaborative Problem Solving
Another approach I take is working one-on-one with developers. I have found that this approach works incredibly well because it allows developers to voice their concerns and provides an opportunity for me to address any issues they may have. When I see a developer under delivering on expected stories, I address the issue with them, taking steps to ensure not only their success but the full team's. I believe that this approach has helped me to build a strong team that is committed to delivering high-quality products.
Effective Project Management
Meeting fast-paced deadlines is always a challenge in product development. I have found that the key to success is effective project management. I use a combination of tools and techniques to keep everyone on track and motivated, despite tight deadlines. This approach has allowed us to deliver products on time and has helped us to build a strong reputation for reliability and quality.
Containing Scope
Finally, containing scope as needed to deliver the product is critical. I work closely with stakeholders to ensure that we are focusing on the features that are essential to the success of the product. This approach has allowed us to deliver products that meet the needs of our users while staying within budget and on time.
